Main / Optical interfaces / PORC-3271
| PORC-3271 series 4-channel TDM SDI/ASI optical receivers |
PORC-3271 optical receivers provide the Time Division deMultiplexing of up to four SDI or ASI electrical streams received over a single optical wavelength signal. PORC-3271 is intended to pair with the POTM-3251 optical transmitter. PORC-3271 module occupies one slot in the PROLFEX 1U/3U racks so that up to four receivers fit into a 1U rack and up to fifteen into a 3U rack.
Features
- up to four electrically multiplexed SDI/ASI streams over single optical fiber
- single optical signal in the WDM/CWDM band
- up to eight channels received using two optical DEMUX in WDM band
- up to sixty four channels received using sixteen optical DEMUX in CWDM band
- signal loss indication
- fault tolerant reception - loss of any electrical input signals does not affect the remaining
- CRC/EDH status indication

General description
PORC-3271 simplified schematics:

An input optical signal of a single wavelength is detected and converted into electrical form. An electrical signal is deserialized by means of the TDM (TimeDivision deMultiplexing) and up to four SDI or DVB/ASI signals are recovered. These signals are available at electrical outputs.

Controls and indicators
PORC-3271 frontal panel:

The indicators:
- LINK LOCK – lit if there is valid input optical signal
- LINK LOSS – lit when an optical signal is lost
- CRC MIN – lit if there was a CRC error in the DVB/ASI stream during a last minute interval
- CHANNEL 1...4 – lit if a valid SDI or DVB/ASI data stream is detected in a TDM slot
- LOSS 1...4 – lit when there is no data or a PLL cannot lock on a channel's stream
The controls:
- CRC RESET – press this button to reset the CRC status
The remote control and management from a PC
All the “PROFLEX” modules are remote controllable from a PC. This facility is available if a rack is fitted with a CPU module (ordered separately). |
