| POTR-3207 series E1 multichannel optical transceivers |
POTR-3207-XX optical transceivers provide the bidirectional communication of up to eight E1 streams over an optical fiber. A pair of POTR-3207-X(D) provide the full duplex link over one or two (modification index “D”) optical fibers. The following modifications exist:

General description
POTR-3207 simplified schematic:

An RX input electrical signal of E1 stream is reclocked, multiplexed with other E1 streams and converted into optical signal available at the optical output.
An optical signal is detected, processed and all demultiplexed E1 streams are available at TX outputs after the jitter removal.
In a dual-fiber modification (index “ D ”) one fiber is used to transmit, the other is used to receive on the 1310nm (1550nm by request) wavelength. For the CWDM optical systems the external MUX/DEMUX are required, RX and TX are on the different CWDM wavelengths.
A single-fiber modification is fitted with the built-in optical MUX/DEMUX.

Controls and indicators
POTR-3207 frontal panel:
There are two sets of status indicators:
- COPPER 1...8 – each indicator lits when there is a valid E1 stream on a respective input
- FIBER 1...8 – each indicator lits when there is a valid E1 stream in an optical signal
If all FIBER 1...8 indicators blink - there is no optical signal on the input.
The port mapping is possible to the OUT 1 output.
- MODE – toggles the port mapping ON/OFF. When the port mapping is OFF the OUT1 output presents the E1 stream received from the optical signal
- DOWN, UP – select a channel to be mapped to the OUT1 output. Cycle through the "copper" and "fiber" entries as follows: F1...Fx, C1...Cx. Where "x" is the maximum channel number supported by hardware (8/4/2 respectively)
The remote control and management from a PC
All the “PROFLEX” modules are remote controllable from a PC. This facility is available if a rack is fitted with a CPU module (ordered separately).
