PFPC-3022(E) series CPU module for 3U PROFLEX™ racks

PFPC-3022(E) series CPU module for 3U PROFLEX™ racks provides the remote control and monitoring capability of all functional modules installed in a rack. The rack's air temperature and power supply voltages are also monitored by PFPC-3022.

General description

PFPC-3022(E) series CPU module for 3U PROFLEX™ racks consists of the two submodules:

  • the frontal PFPC-2053F board with all the local means of control, which is always inserted in the very first slot in a rack
  • the rear PB-2093R(1) board with global REF input, RS-485/RS-232, GPI connectors. ETHERNET connector is available in the PB-2093R1 model only

PFPC-3022(E) series CPU module is configurable from it's frontal panel. Pressing the MODE button select a parameter for editing, pressing the UD or DOWN buttons edit it. Available parameters:

  • the rack's configuration
  • the rack's air temperature
  • power supply output voltages
  • watchdog parameters for audible alarm signal

Application examples

RS-485 network in the BUS topology

PFPC-3022(E) series CPU module should be configured for the BUS topology. Each node is allocated with the unique system address. The "PROFITT"'s proprietary protocol is used for communication. The connectivity is not affected by a failing or absent node.

To connect an IBM PC to such a network the PIC-094 (RS-232 to RS-485) or PIC-4094 (ETHERNET/RS-232 to RS-485) interface converter is nesessary.

RS-485 network in the STAR topology

PFPC-3022(E) series CPU module should be configured for the STAR topology. The PHUB-4002 network hub should be present in the system. It is possible to have more than one hub (up to twelve) if MASTER/SLAVE mode is used in the PHUB-4002 hubs. The "PROFITT"'s proprietary protocol is used for communication. The connectivity is not affected by a failing or absent node.

To connect an IBM PC to such a network the PIC-094 (RS-232 to RS-485) or PIC-4094 (ETHERNET/RS-232 to RS-485) interface converter is nesessary.

RS-232 connectivity

PFPC-3022(E) series CPU module may be connected to an IBM PC directly via PIC-094 (RS-232 to RS-485) interface converter.

ETHERNET connectivity (PFPC-3022E only)

PFPC-3022E series CPU module may be connected to an ETHERNET network directly.
