Overview

PMPE-3630 belongs to the PROLFEX™ family of devices. Below is the simplified schematic diagram of PMPE-3630.

PMPE-3630 simplified diagram

For encoding, the input signal may be either CVBS (PAL/SECAM), or HD/SD SDI. For transcoding, the input is a DVB-ASI stream. The CVBS/SDI signal is converted to 10-bit 4:2:2 format, the Teletext packets are extracted, WSS, AFD are processed.
Audio signal is taken either from an SDIembedded audio group, an external AES/EBU or analog stereo source.
The encoded/transcoded signal is available on the HDMI output for monitoring.
The output program is available in either DVB-ASI or IP formats.

The MODE+and MODE- buttons toggle through all the modes, the UP and DOWN buttons edit them, the ENTER button activates a new value/setting.

  • VID - lit in green if a valid video signal is detected on the input, lit in red if no signal present, lit in yellow if parameters in the ENCODE and the INPUT tabs do not coinside
  • AUD - lit in green if a valid audio group is detected on the SDI input, lit in red if no signal present
  • SYSTEM - lit in green if no errors detected, lit in red if error(s) in parameters or operation occurs. The LED is OFF when PMPE-3630 is idling
  • TTX - lit in green if WST Teletext is detected, lit in red if not. The LED is OFF when Teletext support is disabled

Output bitrate estimation

Please note that the video and audio bitrate shown in the device settings are raw. On the physical interfaces the actual bitrate will be higher depending on the streaming protocol and FEC values. Refer to Table#1 below.
