Main / Changeovers (video, audio, SDI)/ PRSD-4068
| PRSD-4068 series broadcast "smart" SDI video- audiochangeovers |
The PRSD-4068/A/E broadcast changeover protects a complete channel providing SD SDIembedded video, AES/EBU and analog audio support.
Depenging on the model index PRSD-4068 supports the following signal standards:
- PRSD-4068 : SDIembedded (SMPTE259M)
- PRSD-4068A: SDI and external analog stereo audio
- PRSD-4068E: SDI and external AES/EBU audio

PRSD-4068 switches the main output "1" between the primary input "A" and the secondary input "B" in automatic or manual mode, under local or remote control. When in automatic changeover mode, PRSD-4068 analyses the following set of parameters:
- VIDEO (sources may be up to 15 TV frames out of phase to each other):
- SDI loss condition
- two or more EDH errors within a presettable time interval
- a "frosen"/"pixellated" SDI-video on one input while the other has an undistorted video
- a 2~6dB video level drop on one input relative to the other, the level difference is presettable in 0.5dB increments. A switchback occurs when the level difference falls below 1dB.
- AUDIO:
- a loss of an external AES/EBU signal or a preselectable SDIembedded group
- a 2~12dB audio level drop on one input relative to the other (the level difference is presettable in 1dB increments) for:
- any channel in a preselected SDIembedded group
- an external analog stereosignal
- an external AES/EBU audio
- A switchback occurs when the level difference falls below 2dB
- an audio level drops below a preset "silence threshold" on one input while the other has an above-the-threshold audio level. The "silence threshold" is presettable in 0 to minus 60dB range with 1dB increments.
The forward delay (an interval between a moment a fault was detected on primary input and an actual change over to the secondary input) is user-presettable:
- for any video and digital audio signal fault the delay is 0~99.9sec with 0.1sec increments
- for analog audio signal faults the delay is 0.5~99.5sec with 0.5sec increments
The recovery delay is user-presettable in 1~999sec range with 1sec increments. An immediate recovery switching to the primary input takes place if a fault occurs on the secondary input.
On power-down condition the "A"-input is commuted to the main output "1".
A monitor output provides PAL video with an OSD bargraph audio level indicators overlay.
The monitor output may be in either of four states:
- "A"-input is commuted to the monitor
- "B"-input is commuted to the monitor
- a copy of main output is commuted to the monitor
- a copy of input currently selected as a back-up is commuted to the monitor
An audio monitor output follows the video monitor with audio channels 1/2 or 3/4 manual selection capability.
PRSD-4068 can be controlled:
- locally from it's front panel
- remotely from a separate PRR-4068P console
- via Ethernet from a PC
- by GPI commands
